Bomet groom Amos Rono set for solo holiday at the coast
Amos Rono, 30, the groom recently embroiled in a controversial breakup with his ex-fiance Nelly Chepkoech, will get a beach holiday to escape all the drama.
Bonfire Adventures has stepped in to bring positivity to his life. The travel agency presented Rono with a four-day coastal getaway package, complete with return flights, meals, and beverages, aiming to offer solace after his last-minute heartbreak.
Bonfire Adventures CEO Simon Kabu, personally presented the package to Rono during the Jamhuri Day celebrations on Tuesday.
The gesture was intended to provide comfort and a welcome distraction for the groom-to-be, who faced a sudden cancellation of his wedding.
Head of Marketing at Bonfire Adventures, Anthony Maingi, shared insights into the generous offer, stating, “We have given him a four-day package to the coast. The package is inclusive of a flight, meals will be all-inclusive, including lunch, breakfast, dinner with an unlimited flow of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.”

While the specific destination in the coastal region is yet to be confirmed, options include Malindi, Diani, or Mombasa.
The holiday is tentatively scheduled for early January, allowing Rono to spend Christmas with his family in Bomet County.
Maingi emphasised that the holiday serves as an opportunity for Rono to unwind and relieve stress, urging him to consider the prospect of moving forward and, perhaps, finding a new partner.
The tumultuous saga of Rono and Nelly has captured public attention over the past week, eliciting various opinions from Kenyans on the unfortunate turn of events that left the would-be groom in tears.
In response to the situation, Rono expressed goodwill towards Nelly, stating, “I wish her well in her future life endeavors, and I have nothing against her or her family.”
Nelly cited parental interests and advice from friends as the reasons for her eleventh-hour decision to call off the wedding. However, the specific issue that led to the rejection remains undisclosed.
