City cop facing defilement charges arrested for robbery in Tassia
A police officer who is facing defilement charges was on Tuesday evening arrested after he robbed a house in Tassia Estate, Embakasi.
The policeman, identified as Paul Rotich, is accused of breaking into a house and robbing the owner of household items.
According to a police report on the incident, the cop was with two female accomplices who were armed with a knife that they used to threatening the house help as they robbed the house.
The house help raised alarm which attracted members of the public who came to her rescue.
The cop and a female accomplice were arrested, while the third suspect escaped in a getaway vehicle.
The policeman is stationed in Gatundu and was interdicted in March 2018 after he was accused of defiling a young girl. The case is ongoing in a Gatundu Court.
Police said he will now face new charges of robbery with violence.
