Creative Hands triumph in Sakaja Super Cup ‘slum derby’

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Super League Division two side Creative Hands beat Mukuru Combined  5-0 in a Sakaja Super Cup “Slum Derby” clash of the Embakasi South sub county finals on November 25, 2023.

Wesley Momanyi, Caleb Abuga, Samuel Kigo, Jean Muhuma and Daniel Mutinda were on target for Creative Hands in this convincing victory.

Kigo’s goal stood out.

He successfully took on three defenders with an exciting dribble and then drew the opposing goalkeeper before planting the ball on the bottom right corner of the goal.

In Embakasi West, a lone first half goal by Joseph Dulo earned Mowlem a 1-0 win over Uefa Despanol.

In Makadara, Lucky Summer Sports edged out St John’s 1-0 courtesy of a lone 29th minute strike by Levi Odede.

In Dagoretti South, B13 pipped Riruta 105 2-1 at Nairobi City Council (NCC) grounds.

Joseph Ngugi drew first blood for B13 before Martin Karanja adding twice as Ford Wangui replied forRiruta with a brace.

Technical University Hummers trounced Kawasaki FC 3-1 to win the Sakaja Super Cup Starehe finals at Landi Mawe grounds.

The students fought from a goal down to eclipse Kawasaki and qualify for the tournament’s next round.
Stanley Omari, Elton Omondi and Jasper Ombasi were on the scoresheet for the Hummers to carry the day.

These results pave way for the inter-county knockout round one matches on November 29 and 30. This will be followed by the knockout matches on December 6, setting the stage for the semi-finals, third play off and final between December 10-16.

The winning team will pocket Sh3 million.

The Sakaja Cup which attracted hundreds of teams across the capital is a tournament organised by the Sakaja Foundation and Football Kenya Federation, in a bid to expose and nurture grassroots talents.
