Davido shuts social media noise as he celebrates, wife’s birthday
Music sensation Davido seems to have moved on from the social media frenzy caused by his recent exchange with long-time rival Wizkid.
Davido has since opted to celebrate his wife Chioma’s 29th birthday in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The rivalry between Davido and Wizkid, who are known for their online battles over superiority, escalated when Wizkid challenged Davido to release a song he wrote himself after fans requested for new music from Wizkid.
Wizkid suggested that all of Davido’s music was written by someone else.
This rift intensified when Wizkid responded to fans’ requests with a video from April showing Davido begging on his knees.
Wizkid implied that such drastic measures were necessary to persuade Davido to release new music, sparking further controversy.
Undeterred by the drama, Davido, accompanied by his wife Chioma and a select group of friends, is enjoying a lavish celebration in Jamaica.
Davido took to Instagram to shower his wife with affection, sharing adorable photos and videos capturing their love-filled moments and expressing heartfelt sentiments.
He described Chioma as his rock, who helps him silence all the noise with her love.
“Happy birthday to my queen!!! Your strength and grace lift me up every day! Thank you for always being my rock and helping me block out all the noise with your love. Here’s to more joy, laughter and sweet music in our lives. I love you and It’s till infinity!!! #ChiomaDay,” he wrote.
Davido and Chioma had their traditional wedding on 6 November 2022 at Davido’s father’s house with only a few family and friends in attendance and no cameras allowed.
Their marriage was a low-key affair for reasons best known to them, but the beauty of it is that he never stops celebrating them at the slightest opportunity.
He officially confirmed their marriage in March 2023.
He said: “I’ve had a lot to think about, time to rest, time to reflect, a lot of family time. Time to make music again.”
“Before I went on break I actually had an album ready. I had everything ready, but we redid the album. I travelled, I got married. A lot of different things, but we are ready to go back on the road,” he added.
