ERC announces higher fuel prices for Sept-Oct
It’s more pain at the pump for motorists after the Energy Regulatory Commission increased fuel prices for the next 30 days.
In the monthly review released on Thursday afternoon, a the price of a litre of super petrol will go up by Sh2.22 and that of diesel by Sh1. Kerosene prices will go up by 94 cents a litre.
A litre of super petrol will now retail at Sh98.3, diesel Sh86.86 and kerosene Sh64.36 in Nairobi.
ERC acting director general Robert Pavel Oimeke said the changes have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported super petrol increasing by 7.48 per cent; diesel by 1.48 per cent and kerosene by 0.72 per cent.
“Over the same period, the mean monthly US dollar to Kenyan shilling exchange rate appreciated by 0.5 per cent from Ksh103.92 per US$ in July 2017 to Sh103.37 per US$ in August 2017,” added Oimeke.
