EXCLUSIVE: Sol Generation’s manager Nanjero responds to Nviiri’s departure


William Nanjero, the General Manager overseeing brands and projects at Sol Generation, has unveiled upcoming initiatives for the record labels following Nviiri’s departure.

He suggested that new signings will be announced shortly. 

Nanjero made these remarks while attending the launch of Human Mobile Devices’s (HMD) inaugural collection, which has just been introduced to the Kenyan market.

“We aspire for BenSoul and Nviiri to establish themselves as leaders in their own right and build their own enterprises, empowering other artists along the wayBenSoul’s recent performance showcased his talent, and Nviiri has his team, which is incredibly promising. My desire is for them to continuously elevate our Kenyan identity to new heights, transcending beyond just national athletes,” he told Nairobi News.

What’s next for Sol Generation?

“Our approach is straightforward: we scout for talent, nurture them and let them go and shine out there. We want them to be global stars. We are about to make major statements in about a few weeks. We also have so many events coming up and Sauti Sol members are also doing great things here in Kenya and beyond.”

Nanjero hinted at the prospect of introducing new members, stating:

“In the next three months, we will be back to discuss about it,” he said hinting at a possibility to have new members.

The exclusive event hosted by tech innovator HMD was attended by media personalities and celebrities, including the podcast duo Ben Cyco and Wanjiru Njiru, Sol Generation’s GM Nanjero, YouTuber Raymond Kahuma, and content creator Wilson Muchemii, among others. Radio hosts Lotan from Homeboyz Radio and Kui Kabala from Capital FM took on the role of MCs for the event.

The inaugural line of smartphones from the original HMD series, officially launched in Kenya, includes the HMD Pulse Pro, HMD Pulse+, and HMD Pulse. These devices from the HMD Pulse collection exemplify the brand’s signature traits: sleek design, serene colors, contemporary aesthetics, easy repairability, and daring, distinctive style, all offered at an affordable price point.

Speaking during the Launch event in Kenya, Sanmeet Singh Kocchar, Vice President of Africa, Middle East and Asia (AMEA), comments: “
