Haile Selassie Avenue, Parliament Road to be temporarily closed on Friday night
The Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) has announced a temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue and Parliament Road on Friday night.
In a statement, Kenha said the two roads will be closed from Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10pm to Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 5am to allow for the installation of service ducts.
As a result, motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and to cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.
Currently, a section of Uhuru Highway at Hotel Boulevard and the University of Nairobi roundabout (Mombasa Bound) is closed for maintenance work.
In a statement on Thursday, Kenha announced that the closure would be effected beginning Thursday, March 28, until Saturday, April 6 at midnight.
Motorists accessing Uhuru Highway (A8) from Westlands and Thika Road have been advised to use alternative routes and to approach the affected section cautiously.
The alternative routes include Harry Thuku Road, University Way, Prof. Wangari Mathai Road, and Kipande Road.
