How TikTok ex-couple Josh Wonder and Ajib Gathoni ‘fought’ over rented house
The fallout between TikTok’s famous couple Ajib Gathoni and Josh Wonder has left Kenyans surprised.
The split comes as the split threatened to take an ugly turn, as he revealed some not-so-pleasant details of what transpired between the couple.
Quick as many were to believe Josh’s story after he was interviewed by popular content creator Eve Mungai, others remained skeptical about the one-sided version of events as Ajib is yet to give her side of the story.
Looking back at their two-year relationship, no one would have easily predicted the pair would split up, at least not any time soon.
They greatly served couple goals on TikTok making dance and lip-syncing videos together which left their fans ogling at the delight of a fairytale love story they portrayed.
While many hoped and expected the whole ideal to be a clout-chasing stunt, it wasn’t.
Just two weeks after Ajib confirmed she and Josh were no longer an item, it only seemed right to the latter to come out and clear the air on why they chose to go separate ways.
It started with a chronological recollection of scenes during a TikTok live which went viral in a matter of hours.
Josh revealed that on the days leading to the split Ajib tried to secretly have him kicked out of their house which he paid rent for.
“Previously during the relationship I’m the one who used to ensure rent was paid and anything else to do with the house. At this time when things were going sour, person X decided to call the owner of the house, telling the owner, to change every piece of information in the tenant agreement from under my name to hers,” Josh said in the TikTok live session.
He went on to narrate how Ajib tried to have all documents changed so that she’d be the owner of the house and take the lead in everything.
“This meant she wanted to take over the house so that she would have the authority to tell me to leave when it came down to that,” stated Josh.
He went on to add that his ex didn’t know that when leasing the house he didn’t include his girlfriend’s name in the documents.
“She did not know that the house we were in did not have any of her details on them. The owner was very shocked. He told her, ‘I don’t even know who you are, first of all, and can I talk to Josh!’ and when the owner was talking to me I told him I also don’t know what is happening,” said the TikToker.
Fortunately, Josh had been smart enough to ensure that the lease was in his name, and the next of kin listed was his brother. He noted in hindsight he was happy that he “played it smart and made sure that the next of kin [indicated in any of his documents] is my brother. Right now I’d be homeless.”
Then in the recent interview with Eve Mungai, Josh revealed that Ajib cheated on him with multiple men, among them being a friend of his whom he claimed she was not willing to let go.
Looking at the reasons Ajib, if at all, cheated, could have been because she had grown tired of her now ex-boyfriend and wanted to explore other options while still in the relationship. Maybe the cost of leaving Josh at the time seemed too high and instead opted to step a foot outside the relationship. She hasn’t yet responded to Josh’s revelation, which is rather odd because she seems completely unbothered.
