Kirubi’s photo with Joho evokes flurry of ‘get well soon’ messages from Kenyans

A photo of ailing city tycoon Chris Kirubi in the company of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has moved Kenyans to send their goodwill messages, even as the businessman asserted that he is on the path to full recovery.

The media owner and prominent businessman has spent the past year undergoing treatment for cancer in the US.

He has also opted to stay away from the limelight, save for a few occasions such as when he met opposition leader Raila Odinga and now Governor Joho.

“I had a pleasure of receiving a visit from Governor of Mombasa County Ali Hassan Joho at my home in Kilifi County. He came to wish me well as I continue to recuperate. We discussed matters of national interest in particular nation building, investment and fostering cooperation. #AskKirubi,” Kirubi posted on Facebook.
