A man who attempted to evict his aunt out of her father’s house in Kawangware, Nairobi, has been charged with creating a disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace and threatening to evict.

Peter Ndung’u is accused of threatening to evict Rose Nyambura from her late father’s home while armed with a knife on February 23.

Nyambura received information from one of her tenants that Ndung”u was at her doorstep while hitting the door.

She reported the matter to Muthangari police station and two police officers accompanied her to the house.

On arrival, they allegedly found the suspect inside the house and upon knocking, he opened for them.

They found him allegedly removing the complainant’s clothes from her bedroom and piling them in the sitting room.

He was searched and allegedly found with a knife inside his jacket and was arrested.

Ndung’u denied the charges before senior principal magistrate Derrick Kutto of Kibera law courts.

He was released on a bond of Sh50, 000 and alternative cash bail of Sh20, 000.

The case will be mentioned on March 16.
