Mishi Mboko clinches Likoni Constituency seat


Outgoing Mombasa woman representative Mishi Mboko has emerged victorious in the Likoni Constituency parliamentary race.

Ms Mboko trounced the incumbent Masudi Mwahima who has held the seat for the last 10 years.

Ms Mboko, running under the ODM ticket, trounced the incumbent Masudi Mwahima with 27,075 votes against 14,505 votes.

In third place is another Likoni veteran politician Suleman Shakombo with 2,601 votes.

Other tightly held races at the coast included a gubernatorial face-off between Salim Mvurya of the Jubilee Party and Chirau Ali Makwere of the Wiper Democratic Movement in Kwale County.

In Lamu County all eyes were on the governor race between Fahim Twaha of Jubilee and incumbent Issa Timamy from ANC party.
