Morocco’s ‘Mother of All Lies Film’ lands Oscar nomination
An African film has secured a spot among 15 shortlisted entries for the International Feature Film category at the 96th Academy Awards.
The category, which attracted films from 88 countries and regions, reflects the diverse and rich storytelling that transcends borders.
The lone African representative is “The Mother of All Lies” from Morocco, a testament to the burgeoning talent and storytelling prowess emerging from the continent.

Nominations voting is set to commence on Thursday, January 11, 2024, concluding on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. The official announcement of the 96th Academy Award nominations is scheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
The grand culmination of this celebration of global cinema will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
