New designs to save home owners headaches
The Housing Finance Group has unveiled over 50 home designs aimed at delivering access to quality and affordable housing to the middle and lower end of the market.
The designs, dubbed Makao Faster, will bring together a range of building professionals and Housing finance.
The designs will include a Sh1.6 million design targeting the lower income customers.
Housing Finance Group CEO Frank Ireri said demand for housing in the country was high, driven by the growing population and rapid urbanisation.
“Makao will address key challenges home owners face in construction. These include poor supervision and inflated building costs, fluctuating prices of materials, delay in completion, poor quality and theft of materials, diversion of construction funds and unqualified fundis,’’ said Mr Ireri during the launch last week.
He added that poor workmanship and use of low quality materials often led to higher maintenance and repair costs that nullified any initial savings.
“Makao home will be delivered within agreed time periods and it comes with fixed costs and it is quality assured,” he added.
They target individuals, saccos, corporates, Kenyans in the diaspora, chamas and schemes and the county authorities who have a lot of construction to do.
More than 50 designs come with details on pricing, construction period and proposed plot sizes.
Housing Finance customers will also be offered 100 per cent financing for homes.
