Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo officially launched its latest mobile device, Reno2F, in Kenya on Monday.

The new smartphone in Oppo’s Reno Series comes after the inaugural premium and more expensive version, Reno 10X Zoom, was launched in the country back in July.

The Reno 2F surprisingly falls under the upper mid-range region of the smartphone market despite having the premium Reno name.

The smart device has plastic body consisting of a large 6.5 inch 2340 x 1080 pixel-dense screen, coupled with an AMOLED panel covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Oppo Reno2F also boasts of a quad-camera (4 cameras) at the back: the main camera is 48MP, a 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP ‘mono’ camera and another 2MP ‘secondary camera.’

The primary camera features the Ultra Night Mode 2.0 for improved night photos and Portrait 2.0 that blurs the background when taking portrait photos, as well as a pop-up 16MP selfie camera.

Speaking at the launch, Oppo Kenya PR and Corporate Communication Manager Muthoni Wachira said the new device is mainly targeting the young and trendy consumers.

“Reno Series are focusing on creativity. The Reno2F represents Oppo’s latest technologies that have been created keeping the young trendy consumers’ needs in mind. With the latest series, consumers are assured of premium technology especially on the smartphone photography,” she said.

The Oppo Reno 2F also has the Hidden Fingerprint Unlock 3.0 on feature on the screen as opposed to the usual back spot with an 8GB RAM and 128GB memory for enhanced processing.
