Police arrest three women at Murang’a strip club

Police in Murang’a are holding three women who were reportedly found stripping in a local club.

The trio of Ms Fidelis Wahira, Ms Triza Wairimu and Ms Anastacia Njeri were allegedly found naked inside Orpul Night Club.

“Please be informed that police officers from Murang’a police station under the command of the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) while acting on a tip of information stormed Orpul night club and arrested three ladies who were found dancing half naked as they entertained revelers,” a police report filed at Murang’a Town Police Station read in part.

Police said they were contemplating charging the suspects with the offense of indecent exposure in a public space.

Any person who commits an indecent act with an adult is guilty of an offense and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or a fine not exceeding fifty thousand shillings or both.

Murang’a County Commander Mr David Mathiu said the trio will be arraigned on September 4, 2023.

Meanwhile, police in Murang’a and Kiambu Counties seized suspected counterfeit alcohol drinks on September 2, 2023.

In a raid conducted by police officers, different brands of alcohol including; 44 cartons of ‘Best’ liquor, 25 cartons of ‘Smart’, 69 cartons of ‘People’, 44 cartons of ‘Blue Ice’, and 240 liters of spirit stored in jerricans were recovered.

During the raid, police officers also seized fake Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stickers, 2,000 bottle tops, and 1,000 bottles of different brands of spirits.

The National Police Service (NPS) said that members of the public should go on sharing information that will lead to the arrest of more suspects.
