Policewoman left suicide notes on WhatsApp and Facebook before turning gun on self

A female police officer attached to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport who committed suicide Wednesday morning had given hints on her social media platforms.

Facebook and WhatsApp status updates, believed to have been made by the policewoman, expressed disappointment and wished her child well in life.

On Whatsapp, she wrote: “My sweet baby may you grow while blessed, (sic) always remember mum loves you.”

And her Facebook status told her frustrations despite Kenya Airport Police Unit Deputy Commandant Rono Bunei saying she reported to work after her annual leave in a jovial mood and showed no signs of being frustrated.

“Life is so difficult wen u live in a world here, everybody is planning evil against u and wat happens wen u cant hold it anymore and no more strength to support the few people who love and cherish u???u are left with no other option other than…..so help me God,” she wrote on her Facebook account.

The two statuses, though on different platforms, were updated around the same time as screenshots shared online showed both were posted five hours ago.

The officer had removed her beret and swagger-cane and placed them on a table at the Control Room before going to the toilet at around 7am where a gunshot was later heard.

She was then found seated on the toilet seat dead, with her official Jericho Pistol in her hand.
