A senior politician who has in recent times been swimming in big money and power got the shock of his life after his wife laid a trap that left him seething with rage. The man had bought a huge piece of land and put up an extravagant home. The big man is seeing another woman who until a while ago was married. But the politician’s wife is said to have sensed the plans for shenanigans in the newly constructed palatial home on the farm and stamped her authority by dividing her time between the farm and their other homes. She also fired all the domestic staff the husband recruited arguing that they owed their allegiance to the other woman.

Bumps for roads boss

A roads agency boss is between a rock and a hard place. A tender contested by two Chinese firms has worked up a stink, with at least two separate investigations being conducted on how one of the bidders was disqualified. The agency boss is said to have told some of his close friends that very powerful government officials are behind the controversial tender award. Described as dismissive by some close to him, the agency boss has stuck to his guns and says the multibillion-shillings tender is a done deal. In the deal, the lowest bidder that quoted Sh3.9 billion was disqualified on account of a mathematical error

Speaker on the spot

A Central Region County assembly speaker accused of influencing the award of tenders to his brother is now said to be walking from bar to bar carrying money to influence MCAs who have vowed to expose him. The speaker has also been reported to have influenced the appointment of his personal assistant to be an administrator in the county. Fearing the worst, he is reported to have reactivated his real property business that he had closed as a fallback plan should the MCAs dispose of him.

Corrupt governor in trouble

A governor from the Rift Valley is in trouble over a Sh45 million bribe that he was allegedly given by contractors interested in a Sh1.3 billion tender in the county. Political 411 has learnt that some four contractors are demanding their Sh45 million money back after they lost their bid for the job. One of them was recently refunded Sh3 million after he went berserk, locking the governor and some of his staff at a hotel in Nairobi for most of a Sunday night two weeks ago.

Betrayal in the county?

Tension between a governor and his deputy in one of the strategic counties is said to have escalated recently over claims that the deputy could be working with another senior politician from Mt Kenya region. Their differences are said to have degenerated recently over the ongoing UDA party grassroots elections following reports that the deputy is working with the top politico said to be sponsoring the onslaught against the governor.
