Prezzo and Cannibal: We haven’t broken up

January 8th, 2014 1 min read

There have been speculations in the last few months that two main artistes in the Makini Music Group, Prezzo and Cannibal, have parted ways.

However, speaking exclusively to Nairobi News, both Prezzo and Cannibal have made it clear that they are still working together.

Cannibal, a former Mombasa-based rapper joined MMG three years ago when he relocated to Nairobi.

Cannibal was one of the main signings of Prezzo’s new outfit after he disbanded the controversial Cash Money Brothers.

Their biggest hit together is My City My Town, a song praising the party life of Nairobi and Mombasa.

Prezzo popularised the song across Africa during his stay at the Big Brother Africa reality show in 2012.

Preoccupied Prezzo

Rumours about their split started soon after Prezzo left the BBA house. It was said the Cannibal wanted pending projects completed while Prezzo spent most of his time in Nigeria with former BBA housemate and lover Goldie, before her death.

When Prezzo came back into the country, the only thing they did was shoot the My City My Town video.

On New Year’s Eve, they buried the hatchet by performing together at Pata Pata Club in Malindi.

“I’m still working with Prezzo and there’s no bad blood between us. We have more projects coming up,” said Cannibal after their show.

Prezzo said that the New Year’s Eve performance was one of his best in 2013.

It is not clear how many other musicians have been signed up to MMG, but apparently many who joined have dropped out.
