Puzzle of woman found dead with hands tied in Nairobi


Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are working overtime to ascertaion what or who killed a woman found with her hands tied at City park, in Nairobi.

So far, detectives have positively identified the woman as Ms Rosemary Shikuku and are pursuing crucial leads including a police abstract issued at Kamukunji Police Station.

“We are still pursuing leads that will assist us know what might have happened. However, her native home has been known,” said a sleuth attached to the DCI who spoke to this reporter in confidence.

Ms Shikuku’s body was found by a man on a walk around the Parklands area who suspected the 35-year old was taking a nap in public with luggage next to her.

He did not move closer to the body after discovering her hands were tied and there were some injuries on her head.

The man alerted the police who rushed to the scene of crime and upon a searchfound clothes in the bag.

A police source said investigations show the woman was not murdered at the scene.

“The murder must have taken place somewhere else because the scene was not disturbed due to a struggle,” said the source.

Currently, the sleuths are still pursuing the exact place where the woman was murdered before her body was taken to the scene.

Forensic experts are also working round the clock to check on whether there are finger prints on the body of Ms Shikuku.

The body was taken to the City Mortuary where it is lying awaiting a postmortem.
