Roadside structures next on Kidero’s demolition mission
All structures erected along main road reserves in Nairobi will soon be brought down as per the directive of Governor Evans Kidero.
Dr Kidero cited Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway, Lusaka Road and Ngong Road as some of the roads with the highest number of illegal structures.
The county government has also launched a crackdown on errant employees who have been dealing in fake tickets and receipts.
FAKE TICKETS AND RECEIPTS
“On Wednesday night we raided Pioneer House where we found fake tickets and receipts being printed at 10pm. Three county employees who were arrested will appear in court on Friday,” Dr Kidero said.
He assured the residents of Nairobi that the county government has undertaken on eradicating disorder, lawlessness and illegal operations in the city.
“Since we sacked seven Inspectorate officers order is slowly being restored in Nairobi,” the governor said.
