Sunday list of counties that will have power blackouts
Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions that will affect seven counties on Sunday, February 18, with the outages expected to occur at various times throughout the day.
The affected counties include Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Trans Nzoia, Siaya, Kakamega, and Embu.
In Nairobi, the outage is set to occur from 9 am to 5 pm. Areas to be affected include Huruma, Pioneer Estate, parts of Kangundo, Buruburu, Moi Air Base, Moi Forces Academy, Juja Road, Huruma, Kariobangi North, Kariobangi South, Light Industries, Dandora Ph. 1, Civil Servants, Pioneer Est. Buruburu Police, East Capital Apts, and adjacent customers.
In Kiambu, parts of the county will experience interruptions from 8 am to 5 pm. Affected areas include Rumenye, Ndenderu, Kianjogu, Rueno, Shell, Kihara, Kagongo, Karura Kanyungu, Wangunyu Girls, Stage Nane, Njonjo Farm, Cura, Nyathuna, Rukubi, Kahuho Sec school, Nyathuna, Mwimuto, Gathiga Village, Kessel Homes, Epic. Mwimuto, Wangige, Kingeero, Ndumbuini, Uthiru Gichagi, Genesis, Kanyariri, Fort Smith, Gachio, Gitaru, Kirangari, Kahuho, Kamutiini, Karura Ka Nyungu, Karura Kagongo Karura Ka Murimo, St. Tito, and adjacent customers.
Machakos residents can expect interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm in areas such as Kiungani Rd, Airport Rd, Community Rd, Katani Rd, Green Tank, Notre Dame, White House, and adjacent customers.
In Trans Nzoia, the interruptions will take place from 9 am to 12 pm, affecting numerous areas including Wamuini Centre, St. Joseph’s Boys High Sch, St. Joseph’s Girls High Sch, Kitale Airport, Birunda, Makhele, Machewa, Koikoi, Lukhome, Nyasiland, Western Seed Company, Kakunga, Lukosi, Kiungani, Toll Mkt, Baraton, Sister Fridah Hosp, and many more.
Siaya areas will have interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm, including Esalwa, Rabuor Mkt, Ahono, Sagam Community Hosp, Sinaga Girls, Lihanda, Gongo H/C, Jina, Mindhine, and adjacent customers.
Kakamega residents can expect outages from 10 am to 4.30 pm, affecting Kakamega Town, Masinde Muliro Univ, Kakamega County Hosp, Musoli, Shinyalu, Lubao, Lurambi, Mutaho, and adjacent customers.
Lastly, in Embu, interruptions will occur from 9 am to 5 pm, affecting areas such as Tembo Hotel, Panesic Hotel, Naivas Supermarkets, Maathai Supermarket (Upper), Maguna Supermarket (Upper), Regional Commissioner’s Office & Residence, Emco, Mama Ngina Street, and adjacent customers.
Residents in these areas are advised to make necessary arrangements to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled power outages.
