Suspected burglar saved from angry lynch mob after breaking into house

An angry mob on Wednesday morning arrested a man who is suspected of breaking into residential houses within Ngara and making away with valuables.

The suspect narrowly escaped death after being saved from the charged lynch mob by police officers from Pangani Police Station.

Area residents say that for more than three weeks now they have witnessed a series of robberies which prompted them to set a trap.

This led to the arrest of the suspect only identified as Abdul.

“There have been increased incidents of burglaries within Ngara. The robbers break into houses and steal valuables,” one resident by the name Cyrus Kibagendi said.

Vincent Njuguna, another resident who recently became a victim of the robberies, said that he locked his house and left for the shop only to return and find his house broken into.

“When I entered the house my TV set was missing. I tried asking around but no one could tell me what had happened,” he said.
