‘Tabasamu’ actress Rosemary Waweru explains why her marriage collapsed
In the late 2000s, Kenyan actress Rosemary Waweru captured the hearts of Kenyan audiences with her remarkable portrayal of Maya, the lead character in the beloved Tabasamu TV series.
For years, she remained a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, but eventually, she stepped away from the limelight.
Now, after nearly 15 years, Rosemary has reemerged, shedding light on her personal life, particularly her marriage.
In an interview with Buzz Central, Rosemary candidly discussed her career journey, reflecting on her marriage and the challenges she faced.
She revealed that she entered into a relationship at the age of 20, eventually leading to marriage and the birth of two beautiful daughters.
Although their union appeared strong, things didn’t work right and she separated from the father of her children two years ago.

“It was a relationship that began when we were very young,” Rosemary said.
“I wouldn’t say it was a bad marriage; in fact, it was good for the time it lasted. People change and evolve, and we were no exception. Our paths diverged, and we found ourselves growing apart. It’s not a matter of blame; we were just two individuals who had grown in different directions,” she explained.
Despite the challenges they faced, Rosemary emphasized that her ex-husband isn’t a villain in this story.
She also acknowledged the importance of growth and how it can reshape relationships in unforeseen ways.
“It’s important to recognize that we both contributed to our journey, and it’s equally important to acknowledge that it’s not about casting blame. Life simply took us on separate paths.”

The actress said she and her ex-husband made it a priority to remain active and involved parents in their children’s lives.
“Telling our children about our separation wasn’t easy,” Rosemary admitted.
“But we’re both committed to being present parents, even though we’re no longer together. Our love for our children transcends our personal circumstances.”
Rosemary is presently focusing on her own healing and rediscovery.
“The first year was a period of healing and self-discovery for me. Now, I’m relishing the time with my family and dedicating myself to my career. As for dating, I’m not actively seeking it right now. If the universe has other plans for me, I’ll embrace them in due time,” she explained.
