He sat with Nairobi News reporter Elvis Samperu for a one-on-one interview.

Take 1: How did you receive the news of your enlisting at Coke Studio 2019?

I was elated. I’ve been looking forward to this opportunity. It’s not a small gig therefore I am humbled and very excited.

Take 2: You have had quite a successful year, what would you credit that success to?

Putting God first and working extra hard to make sure that whatever I do, I give it my very best. I am happy that my work has been received well across the region.

Take 3: You work with big stars at WCB Wasafi label, how do you handle their different interests and still maintain a level of consistency and originality in your projects?

It’s very hard I must say, we sometimes have issues amongst ourselves within the label. Some accuse me of preferring other acts to them or favoring some but that is the nature of the job. At the end of the day we come together, sort our differences and get the job done.

Take 4: Who among the artistes at Wasafi do you prefer working with?

I wouldn’t say prefer, but I work best with Rayvanny. I think it’s because he is the very first artiste I worked with before the rest of them. He doesn’t disturb me and that makes it very easy to work with.

Take 5: Are you working on any projects with Kenyan artistes while you’re in Kenya?

Yes I am. I unfortunately can’t speak on them now but I am working on something which will be released very soon.
