How Twitter reacted to Peter Kenneth’s announcement
Kenyans on Twitter on Friday reacted to former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth’s announcement to run for governor in Nairobi as an independent candidate.
Kenneth said his decision was reached at after “sham Jubilee Party nominations that were full of irregularities.”
Some Kenyans on Twitter termed his move as typical of Kenyan politicians who never accept defeat adding that he should have supported the primaries winner Senator Mike Sonko.
Kenneth, during his announcement, said Sonko lacks managerial experience to run the capital city and that not even his newly unveiled running mate Polycarp Igathe will be of help.
Others, however, supported Kenneth’s move stating that Nairobians ought to be presented with various options to choose the best leaders based on their manifestos.
Here are some of the reactions:
Sadly for Peter Kenneth, the most recent track record people can refer to is his tenure as Gatanga MP. And that was 5 years ago.

Peter Kenneth should know politics is not a do or die affair. The people that rejected him in the primaries will still reject him in August.
