Uhuru Kenyatta surprises Pastor Kiengei’s congregation with Christmas gift

In a heartwarming gesture of holiday spirit, former President Uhuru Kenyatta has pleasantly surprised members of Pastor Kiengei’s  Jesus Compassionate Ministry (JCM) by presenting a generous Sh1 million Christmas donation.

While not physically present at the JCM Church, Uhuru reached out to the congregation through a phone call with Pastor Kiengei, who put him on loudspeaker for the entire assembly to hear.

Uhuru shared that he had learned about the church’s efforts to organise a festive celebration for those facing challenges during these tough times.

In response, the retired president expressed his commitment to supporting the community, announcing a Sh1 million contribution to enhance the Christmas festivities.

“I told him I could not abandon our people and whatever he is doing, I will top him up. I have told him I will extend Sh1 million so that he can buy unga for more people. I wish you happy holidays to you all and your families and may God solve the problems we are going through,” said Uhuru amid cheers from the worshipers.

The generous donation comes at a time when leaders across the nation are joining hands with communities at the grassroots to spread joy ahead of Christmas.

Uhuru, in his goodwill message, also pledged to find time to worship at the JCM Church in the coming year.

In a similar spirit of festive benevolence, President William Ruto has extended Christmas donations to locals at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu County.

The First Lady, Rachel Ruto, joined him in welcoming residents to their rural home on Friday, where long queues formed with joyous residents receiving packets of wheat flour, cooking oil, and rice.
