George Wajackoyah’s claim on assaination plot

Roots party leader George Wajackoyah says there are plans by unnamed people to assassinate Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and himself.

Speaking on May 4, 2023, Wajackoyah who unsuccessfully contested for the presidency in the August 9, 2022 polls, added that he was not afraid of death.

“We have seen murders during the late President Daniel Moi’s regime. Many people were killed but there was none to speak for them. But we want to say that if anything happens to Raila, Kalonzo and myself today, you know who to ask,” he said.

Wajackoyah also named top politicians as those who are planning to harm there.

He did not, however, share evidence.

Nairobi News has not published the names of these politicians for legal reasons.

His sentiment comes a few days after the section of leaders affiliated with Azimio claimed the government had withdrawn their security.

Nairobi News understands the leaders affected by the security withdrawal include Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Martha Karua.

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has also alleged his life was in danger after he was trailed by unknown people.

In a tweet, the legislator claimed the car that has been following him has no records but allegedly operates from a police station.

The government is yet to comment on the allegations.

Amollo lamented about his security detail withdrawal.
