WATCH: Raila offers 20k for bodaboda riders in Nairobi

Raila Odinga on Wednesday offered Sh20,000 to motorbike (bodaboda) riders in Huruma estate, Nairobi, in a move he said would cushion them against the high cost of living.

The seasoned politician, who unsuccessfully contested for the presidency on an Azimio coalition ticket in the August 2022 polls, also promised to champion for affordable living conditions among Kenyans most of whom he said were struggling to make ends meet.

He has also promised a political comeback.

“I will pay for your fuel today. I know things are tough but you should not worry because I promise to always be here to support you,” said Odinga.

Odinga also accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision (IEBC) of bungling the 2022 polls.

He stopped short of substantiating the claims.

“You all know what happened but I am still strong. We are with you,” said Mr Odinga.

He called on his supporters to remain ‘united and strong’.

The gesture comes a day after Odinga, accompanied by youthful lawmakers Babu Owino and Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o made a rare tour through the streets of Nairobi and addressed members of the Bunge la Mwananchi (the People’s Parliament) at the Jevanjee gardens in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
