Why ‘hunting’ instincts of men is often counterproductive in many marriages

One of the toughest dilemmas most women have to confront is the relentless pursuit from married men.

Women who find themselves as side chicks often utter the phrase, “I never knew he was married.”

This means a majority of married men tend to keep their families a secret during their extra-marital affairs.

Many married men are hesitant to admit that they are in other romantic relationships, choosing to see how things will unfold while secretly engaging other women without their spouse’s knowledge.

However, for all their efforts to keep their marriages a secret, ‘hunting’ instincts of men has always proved to be counterproductive in many marriages

Some of these flirtatious affairs have ended in ugly divorces while others have resulted in loss of lives.

Older men in Nairobi often refuse to acknowledge their wives, some going as far as claiming separation and then later stating that their wife decided to make peace.

Many people are often quick to blame and label the second wife as a husband snatcher, without delving into the circumstances that led the woman into that marriage.

In the current generation, many couples prefer cohabitation before marriage, which comes with more dilemmas for women who end up bearing the inevitable consequences, such as unplanned pregnancies.

By the time they realize the truth, it’s often too late, and many choose to stay and accept their position as the side chick.

A survey conducted by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics early this year established that most Kenyan have an average of seven sexual partners, while women have an average of two, contributing to the widespread prevalence of STDs and HIV/Aids.

This is why it is very important for a man to open up before engaging in an erotic relationship. Before you commit, ensure you open up to the other party.
