Zari Hassan’s Christmas visit to late husband Ivan Ssemwanga’s grave

In a heartfelt moment captured on video, Zari Hassan, the Ugandan socialite and entrepreneur, visited the grave of her late husband, Ivan Ssemwanga, during her Christmas vacation in Uganda.

Ivan Ssemwanga, a prominent figure in South Africa, passed away in 2017.

The couple shared a 12-year marriage, during which they welcomed three sons—Pinto, Raphael, and Quincy Semwanga.

Ivan, with Zari by his side, played a significant role in establishing and managing the Brooklyn Colleges, a chain with six branches across South Africa.

His venture into education began in 2002 when he relocated to South Africa with the assistance of his cousin.

Before his untimely death, Ivan owned several mansions in Uganda and two luxurious residences in Sandton and Pretoria, South Africa.

Zari, commemorating what would have been Ivan’s birthday on December 13, took to Instagram to express her heartfelt wishes.

In her message, she wrote, “Happy birthday, hope the angels are celebrating with him. The legacy lives on. Happy birthday.”

The couple’s relationship left an indelible mark on Zari, who acknowledged Ivan as the “greatest of all time” in a tribute following his passing.

“God loves those that are special and that’s exactly who you were and I guess that’s why he wanted you to himself. You have touched and helped thousands, you did wonders and I remember you telling me “life is too short let me live it to the fullest”, this very dark hour it makes sense why you always said those words to me,” read part of her message.

Despite their separation and subsequent accusations from Ivan’s family insinuating Zari’s involvement in his depression, the family disputes were later resolved.

Pinto Ntale, Zari’s eldest son with Ivan, was officially named the heir to Ivan’s extensive properties.

Zari Hassan has since moved on with her life and is married to her younger Ugandan husband, Shakib Lutaya.

She also was involved in a publiscised relationship with Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz.
