KOT reacts to Ndichu brothers assault claim
Kenyans have expressed their anger after a video was shared on social media showing two well-known brothers assaulting ladies.
The two, Peter and Eddie Ndicho, who also are twins, and double up as co-founders of Wapi Pay start-up, have since denied assaulting the ladies.
But this hasn’t stopped the hue and cry. Wahu Kagwi, the Back it Up songbird, openly condemned the statement released by the two, even highlighting what she claimed were inconsistencies in it.
“You insinuate that neither you nor your co-founders Eddie and Paul Ndichu tolerate gender-based violence yet the footage indicates otherwise. Do you also say your co-founders were neutralizing a fight by slapping a woman? And vandalizing a car? This is in no way an apology. This is a poor attempt to clear guilty, irresponsible, and violent behavior. Dear corporates and members of the public we cannot in this day and age condone this kind of irresponsible entitled and disrespectful practices. May the law of Kenya prevail,” the singer wrote on her Instagram.
“It appears that these Ndichu twins are used to getting away with these assaults because of their ‘celebrity’ status as ‘tech gurus.’ Those who continue to invest in ventures such as Wapi Pay are complicit in promoting #GBV,” Dr. Roselyn Akombe twitted.
“Again I say, it’s better not to respond,” Dj Soxxy said.
