DJ Joe Mfalme arrested over the death of police officer


The internet is buzzing with news of the arrest of renowned DJ Joe Mfalme, who stands accused in connection with the tragic assault of Deputy DCIO Felix Kelian, a senior police officer.

As per police reports, Joseph Mwenda, known professionally as DJ Joe Mfalme, along with his bouncer, photographer, and driver, have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in the assault on March 16, 2024.

Tragically, Inspector Kelian passed away from his injuries on Friday, March 22 while undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital.

The incident reportedly occurred following a “non-injury traffic accident” involving the officer at approximately 4 am within Kikuyu market.

In addition to Mfalme and his team, three police officers have also been detained in connection to the altercation that resulted in the untimely demise of the Deputy DCIO.

Also being questioned are three police officers who attended the scene.

Who is DJ Joe Mfalme?

He was born on the 9th of December 1987.

Dj Joe Mfalme is on heavy rotation and is currently the most sought after disc jockey from Kenya no doubt.

Playing at various parties, corporate events, festivals, weddings, clubs, not only in Kenya, Africa but overseas as well every other day.

DJ Joe’s journey began at Club Dimples in Meru.

He would sit behind the booth and observe what the DJs were doing. That is how how he got the skills.

Then when he came to Nairobi, he started hanging out with DJ Krowbar who later introduced him to Kevin Mulei.

“That was way back before Mo Sound even existed. That was all the start I needed. The rest is a journey of seeking opportunities and working very hard,” Mfalme said in a past interview.

In 2021, Radio Africa Group-owned Homeboyz Radio terminated his services alongside two others after a victim-shaming scandal during their breakfast show dubbed the ‘Lift Off’.
