Rare photos of Zari’s husband, Shakib, with late Ivan Ssemwanga and Diamond
Several photos of Zari Hassan’s husband, Shakib Lutaaya, socialising with Ugandan celebrities from years past have stirred reactions on social media platforms.
One of the widely circulated images shows Shakib alongside Zari’s ex-partner and father of her first three children, Ivan Ssemwanga.
In the photo, Shakib is seen posing with three others next to Ivan, who dons a black and white outfit while holding a glass.
Other notable TBT photo captures Shakib with Diamond Platnumz, Bebe Cool’s wife, Zuena Kirema, Jose Chameloene and the late Radio.
Users on platforms like X expressed surprise at discovering these older pictures, many of which were taken in South Africa, where Shakib lived and worked.
Reportedly 32 years old, Shakib is 11 years younger than his wife, Zari Hassan, who has previously addressed concerns regarding their age gap.
“Why are people mad though? Shakib is 30; he just looks good,” Zari defended in 2022.
Lutaaya clarified later that the picture with Ssemwanga was taken by Bebe Cool himself during a trip to South Africa with his wife.
“My friend and one of my favorite artists Bebe Cool Ssali touched down with his wife. He is actually the one who took this picture; we were just at the mall for a casual shopping spree. Unfortunately, the innocent photo is being used by gossip mills to further their own agendas. I wish you peace,” Shakib said.
Meanwhile, Shakib and Zari tied the knot in 2023 in a private nikkah ceremony, with their white wedding set to be televised on the Netflix reality show, “Young, Famous and African.”
