Keli on target for Nkana in build-up match

Kenyan international Jacob Keli made a good first impression on his Zambian suitors, Nkana FC, by scoring moments after coming on as a second half substitute, in a build up match against second tier side Kitwe United on Wednesday evening in a game that ended 1-1.

Keli exhibited good touches on the ball and intelligent movement off it, to improve his chances of earning a contract with the club.

“I am impressed by the quality of play here. The fans here are also very passionate. We will know more about my situation tomorrow (Thursday),” Keli told Nairobi News.

FANS’ EXPECTATION

Keli has already attracted a buzz among several of the club’s ardent fans on social media.

“Hope he will perform to our expectation,” David Kamuhila wrote on Nkana football fans club.

“Welcome home Keli,” Ambrocino de Prosper added.

If offered a contract, the AFC Leopards striker’s immediate task will be to improve on the team’s blunt strike force in the opening half of the season.

The team has managed just seven goals in 14 matches and is placed tenth on the 16-team table.
