Mama Sarah hopeful of K’Ogelo visit

July 25th, 2015 1 min read

Mama Sarah Obama on Friday told residents of K’Ogelo that she would convince President Barack Obama to visit his father’s ancestral home.

She said her wish was for her grandson to pray at his father’s graveside and spend a night in her house.

Speaking at the Kisumu International Airport on her way to Nairobi, the US president’s grandmother said she would preach the word of God to him and urge him to continue ruling in peace and justice.

Mama Sarah said she would give him a traditional seat as a gift.

PERSONAL APPEAL

Visibly elated with the invitation to meet her grandson that was also extended to the Obama family in Homa Bay County, Mama Sarah said she would personally appeal to him to find time in his hectic schedule to visit the rural home.

“He has not prayed at his father’s grave as president. I want him to come and see a small house that I built for him,” she said.

Mama Sarah said her joy would be complete if she made him a meal of traditional vegetables and roast meat.
