Kalonzo, Wetangula no show on Raila’s big day angers KOT
Two key friends of the ODM party were on Saturday missing from the 10th anniversary at Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa.
Cord coalition co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula were a no show during the afternoon celebrations that had been attended by other coalition leaders.
ODM and Cord leader Raila Odinga, however, started his address by delivering greetings from the two to the charged supporters.
CELEBRATING 10 YEARS
The ODM party, which is part of the Cord coalition, was celebrating 10 years of its existence in Kenyan politics.
Wiper party which is also in the coalition in a statement signed by Secretary General and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar wished the Orange party well in their decade anniversary celebrations.
Asked whether Wiper leader Mr Musyoka would attend, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said through SMS that he (Mr Musyoka) will not be attending.
Ford Kenya whose leader Mr Wetangula is a Cord co-principal too was conspicuously missing in the celebrations.
INVITED ALL OPPOSITION LEADERS
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho had on Tuesday announced that ODM party would celebrate its milestone in the coastal city and invited all opposition leaders and supporters.
Mr Wetangula was on Friday in Western region despite his party’s former national chairman and Turkana senator John Munyes defecting to Jubilee party.
Kalonzo’s was on Friday pictured alongside school children after he made a surprise visit to Jacaranda Mental School in Kileleshwa even as several Wiper Mps defected to Jubilee Party.
Kenyans on Twitter descended on the two co-principals for missing out in Odm’s celebrations.
