Grandpa ‘ordered by God’ to live in a tree trunk finds a new home – PHOTOS
A 90-year-old man who has been living in the trunk of a tree for two years has finally found a home.
Mr Ng’ang’a Njuguna from Subukia sub-county was taken to a home for the elderly in Nakuru County two weeks ago.
The welfare officer at the old people’s home, Mr Rueben Otete, said Mzee Njuguna was taken for a health check and was found to have high blood pressure.
“Doctors attributed this to the stress of living in the tree. However, during a second visit to the hospital, his blood pressure had returned to normal,” Mr Otete said.
Mzee Njuguna said he was happy at the home.
“I don’t have to worry about food, clothes or where to sleep,” he said.
He said a divine call had compelled him to live in the tree.
He said he has a family but quickly added that they did not visit him.
