Four killed on New Year as vehicle crashes into a crowd in Busia
Four people were killed on the spot and scores of others injured after a car rammed into a crowd at Bulemia market in Butula, Busia county Sunday night.
Area OCPD Stephen Wambua said the four died during the 9.30pm incident.
Mr Wambua said the driver of a saloon car from Bumala heading to Butula lost control at Bulemia market hitting several people.
He said police were pursuing the driver who escaped after the incident.
“The bodies were taken to Busia county referral hospital while those injured taken to Khunyangu and Nangina hospitals where they are receiving treatment,” said the police boss.
