The third suspect in Monica Kimani’s murder case, who the police have been looking for, has finally been arrested.

Mr Jennings Orlando, who is a Recce Squad officer attached to the US Embassy, was arrested on Thursday night and spent the night at Muthaiga Police Station.

The police believe Mr Orlando was with the main suspect Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu at the time the deceased was murder at her apartment in Nairobi.

The suspect was arraigned before the Kiambu Law Court on Friday and police were given the green light to hold him for 14 days as they proceed with investigations.

Detectives believe that his arrest will be crucial in unraveling the mysterious and gruesome murder of Ms Kimani.

All through detectives have been saying that Mr Irungu was not alone in the house on the night of the murder.

They also said that CCTV cameras captured Jowie in the company of another person inside Ms Maribe’s car when he was leaving the apartments.

“The images showed that Jowie was in company of another person believed to be Orlando,” said a source privy to the investigations who requested for anonymity.

Mr Orlando graduated from the GSU training camp in Embakassi in 2016 and is believed to be Mr Irungu’s close friend.

Another suspect who is in police custody in connection to the murder is former news presenter Jacque Maribe.

Already Ms Maribe and Mr Irungu have pleaded not guilty in connection to the murder.
