Has the Popemobil arrived in Nairobi?

A photo of a mysterious vehicle in Nairobi with features that closely resemble the Popemobil has emerged online.

The photo, taken by a Nairobian who was driving behind a truck that was transporting the vehicle, has sparked speculation on whether it will be the one carrying Pope Francis while in the country next week.

The vehicle appears to be bigger than the trademark Popemobil and had a glass encasing. It also has a detachable stair case, although its full features are covered.

The Popemobil (Papamobile in Italian) is a fleet of specially designed motor vehicles used by the Pope during outdoor public appearances.

They are designed to allow the Pope to be more visible when greeting large crowds.

There have been many different designs for Popemobiles.

Some Popemobiles are open air, while others have bulletproof glass. Some allow the Pope to sit, while others are designed to accommodate the Pope standing.
