The new nganya sports diverse designs with a trendy exterior only painted in blue, which is in sync with European Union colours.
The matatu’s interior is also different from the standard ones with seats placed in different positions, leaving more space inside.
According to a post on EU’s Facebook page, the matatu will be unveiled on Thursday.
The post revealed that the matatu has been built for the Conflict Prevention, Peace and Economic Opportunities For Youth in Kenya Program by the European Union and Kenya Red Cross.
The matatu has has been customized by Choda Fabricators who are one of the biggest matatu’s manufactures in Kenya.
However, Red Cross hasn’t made it clear whether or not the matatu will also be used for public transport.
