Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Karen, Nairobi County are investigating an incident in which a businessman was robbed of his pistol inside a club on Sunday, November 11, 2023.

Police have launched a manhunt for a woman who was last seen in the company of the man inside the club.

“The man was stupefied by a person well known to him and currently investigations on the matter are ongoing,” a police report seen by Nairobi News read in part.

In his statement, the businessman told the police that he met with the woman and spent time together before he blacked out.

On that Sunday, the man narrates how they enjoyed drinks inside the club before they made the decision to part ways at 2am.

“Already, detectives attached to DCI have managed to get a CCTV footage which captured the events of the day,” a sleuth who spoke to Nairobi News in confidence said. He also revealed that he took a bottle of water which might have been spiked.

In the CCTV footage, Nairobi News has established that the man was seen walking with two women to his car. He entered his car but woke up after seven hours when a security guard at the facility went to check on him. He was taken to hospital after they suspected he was unwell.

His Ceska pistol with 15 bullets, two mobile phones and an unknown amount of money were missing.

On Sunday evening, a strange call was made to the wife of the businessman with the caller saying he was a taxi driver who had carried two women to Ruiru.

The taxi driver further said that the women then left a black bag in the car. When he went to check what it was he found details that helped him reach out to the family of the businessman.
