Acknowledging the understanding of those familiar with bipolar disorder, he revealed:

“I had some deep, unresolved issues that kept surfacing and threatening to throw me back into a dark place that I thought I had gotten past.”

Concerns arose among fans when Kimani went live on both Instagram and TikTok.

A TikTok live video that circulated on the internet showed the journalist in both rural and urban settings exhibiting unusual behavior, leading some netizens to speculate that he might have relapsed into his previous state.

In the video, Kimani appeared jovial but spoke incoherently with an unusual voice.

Fans noted his unusual laughter, a departure from his previous demeanor.

In a different clip, he interacted with people in the background, referring to one as a neighbor and another as his dad, whom he invited to speak on the live video before being escorted away.

This incident came months after Kimani’s public appeal to Kenyans for financial assistance to raise Ksh200,000 to start a business and improve his financial situation.

In a detailed video, he revealed his struggles since being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020, expressing how it had affected his life, leading to losses and strained relationships.
