‘Kanjo girl’ Gloria Ntazola in near-fatal accident with cement mixer truck – Watch

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, a concrete mixer truck fell on a vehicle as it was being driven along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

The truck fell on a vehicle, causing pedestrians and those in nearby office buildings to come to a standstill to witness the accident.

Police rushed to the scene, where they met witnesses and worked to free someone from the wreckage of the vehicle, which had been crushed when the truck fell on top of it.

Amateur videos of the scene showed people praying that the person inside was alive, despite being seriously injured.

Further details of the incident emerged when popular social media user Ms Gloria Ntazola, popularly known as ‘Kanjo girl’ after her viral infamous vehicle incident with Nairobi City County Inspectorate officers (infamously known as Kanjo), revealed that she would have died in the same incident had it not been for the hand of God.

“When I leave home, I use State House Road. As I was leaving the house and driving along, I reached the junction that leads to the road to Nairobi CBD. When I got there, there was a lorry behind me – the one that mixes cement. It was behind me and it hit me. I was pushed forward, but luckily the car in front of me was a bit further away. I braked and saw the truck swerving erratically to my right as if it was out of control,” Ntazola explained in a live TikTok session on May 21.

“I wondered what was wrong with the truck. Then I stopped. Within two minutes, it kept swerving and fell on the driver in front of me. Oh my God. Yoh, when you leave the house, learn to pray, and tell God to protect you. I’m in the car at work right now, I’m calling my family and my boyfriend and their phones aren’t going through because they’re off or they’re not answering. I’m actually here talking to you because no one close to me can pick up a call,” said Ntazola.
