Team Curvy Kenya launches Kenyan chapter of Miss Plus World Pageant – PHOTOS


Team Curvy Kenya and key partners have launched and unveiled a new logo that will be the Kenyan chapter of the Miss Plus World.

The event, which took place on Monday at Heron Court Hotel, will see the Kenyan chapter now called Miss Kenya Plus World Pageant.

The new logo will brand all pageant activities in Kenya for 2019 and beyond with the auditions set for March 2019.

This franchise is linked to the coveted Miss Plus World founded in America by Nanette Watts.

CURVY WOMEN

Kenya now joins South Africa as the two African countries which celebrate the African women through the Miss Plus World Pageant Franchise.

Naomi Ng’ang’a, Executive Director of Team Curvy Kenya said that through the pageant they celebrate and amplify African women as strong ambassadors of confidence.

“We will endeavor to present a competitive platform for curvy women celebrating the strong African women who upholds cultural values,” said Ng’ang’a.

The pageant will also repackage the mainstream image of Africa and her women by changing the perceived narrative and providing a true picture for Africans.

“Expressing the powerful true stories that Africa should author, presenting the authentic depiction of what is truly an African woman, which should be celebrated,” she said.

The Miss Plus World Pageant is dedicated to promoting, elevating and celebrating the accomplishments and humanitarian services of women from across the nations.

It is their goal to build a sisterhood of confident and influential women who share their cultures with each other and the world as they promote education, peace, wellness and cultural awareness.
