KOT respond to Sonko, Kananu love-hate affair

Kenyans on Twitter have shared their views on the love-hate relationship between former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and his successor Ann Kananu.

The comments came after Sonko posted pictures of the two politicians touring the Keroche Breweries plant.

This is the second time in as many weeks Sonko and Kananu are publicly hanging out.

On December 27, 2022, Sonko was among politicians who graced the colorful initiation ceremony of Kananu’s son.

A week later, Sonko posted a photo with Kananu and Millicent Omanga, and announced the trio had quit alcohol.

“They, too, have moved on to sobriety like I have to become tea people. Welcome to the tea club),ā€ tweeted Sonko.

Sonko and Kananu appear to have kissed and made up following a messy fallout last year.

At the height of the fallout, Sonko threatened to post disparaging videos and audio clips about Kananu on social media, to ostensibly expose her supposed dealings with her ‘political masters’.

Kananu reacted by moving to court and obtaining orders barring Sonko from posting any videos, comments, texts or materials defaming her.

It is Sonko by the way that recommended Kananu to be her Deputy governor following the resignation of Polycarp Igathe before he changed his mind. The appointment stood, however.
