Legendary rapper Bamzigi mourns the loss of his father
Renowned artiste Bamzigi, real name Harrison Munio, is dealing with grief following the death of his father, Dr Charles Munio Kariba.
Bamzigi is the elder brother of actor Lenana Kariba.
In a previous interview, Lenana disclosed his familial ties to the music industry.
“Bamzigi and Kid Kay from The Kansoul are my older brothers… but unfortunately, the musical talent wasn’t passed down to me. I can’t carry a tune to save my life,” Lenana revealed.
The legendary artist shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page, posting a photo of his late father along with a tribute.
“R.I.P. to the only man in my life that I loved more than myself and respected more than anyone. He was always there for me, my biggest supporter, inspiration, fan, teacher, friend, hero & most of all my ‘father’. To Dr Charles Munio Kariba, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle & friend,” Bamzigi said in his heartfelt message.
Bamzigi, known for hits such as ‘The Bounce’, made a significant impact on the Kenyan music scene.
As for Bamzigi’s siblings – actor Lenana Kiriba and rapper Kid Kora – there has been no public statement regarding their father’s passing.
