Nairobi turns into a hawkers paradise under Sonko – PHOTOS
Nairobians have quickly grown weary of Governor Mike Sonko and are now yearning for the good old days.
At least things were better under Evans Kidero, is the general consensus on social media platforms.
Nowadays, city residents have no where to walk in the central business district. All space in streets and walkaways have been taken over by hawkers displaying their wares.
Hawkers nonchalantly display their wares on streets, and you will be in trouble if by mistake you step on their wares. They start displaying their wares as early as 7am and will be there until well past 10pm.
When their day is done, they park what remains and leave streets place looking like a big dumpsite.
The most affected areas include, Accra Road, Kenyatta Avenue, Tom Mboya Avenue, Moi Avenue, Aga Khan Walk and Ronald Ngala Street.
In his defense on Friday, Governor Sonko blamed the influx of the hawkers on the failure by city askaris to act professionally. Most are demanding bribes before allowing hawkers to do their businesses.
Nairobians have taken to social media to ask the governor to stop is sleeping on the job, end his public relations gimmicks and keep the promises he made.
Its pathetic…. every day when I wake up n imagine the town am going to for work I feel sick.is this what we voted our governor for?????

We should all pray for floating walkways and imagine they exist. Nothing will be done. Campaign promises are just that, PROMISES!

Will never forgive Kidero for overwhelming under performance that allowed Sonko to saunter into a job he doesn’t understand.
