Freepage: New peer to peer messaging app set for launch
A new peer to peer business messaging app called Freepage is set to be launched soon. According to the app’s developer, Ugandan businessman Mr Jimmy Muhwezi, the new app unlike other peer to peer apps like Whatsapp, is more focused on business.
Freepage app will also offer extra features which similar apps don’t have, for example the ability for a user to engage advertisers in real time chatting or calling (both video and voice).
Another feature which the new app will come along with is the business advertising platform. The app has two options to advertise.
The business directory listing enables enterprises to list at an annual rate while the more premium banner has a monthly rate. Already, there are quite a big number of enterprises that have listed with the app.
According to Muhwezi, who has spent the last three years developing the app, the immediate target market is the African region.
BRIDGING THE GAP
“Africa is a big market that has been ignored or left out in many of these opportunities. By developing a product targeted to this market, we wanted to show the world that Africa can and we are ready to take on the world with quality world-class products,” Mr Muhwezi.
Mr Muhwezi added that Freepage, which is available on both Google Play and Apple’s App store, is not about competition rather it is here to bridge an existing gap.
“This bridge will be realized when enterprises embrace the platform and experience quality real time interaction with their target markets. Even ordinary users have a lot to gain from our clear, fast messaging app,” said Mr Muhwezi.
The firm’s CEO, Mr Patrick Njoroge, added that the new app is meant to connect users and allow them to see the endless opportunities in life when linked up online.
“This app will bridge the gap that exists between businesses and general mobile phone users. The process is uniquely seamless. You do not need to go through domain names and emails to get in touch,” he said.
