Pastor Ezekiel congratulates Akothee for settling down

Renowned televangelist, Pastor Ezekiel, has publicly congratulated Akothee, a businesswoman and musician, for her recent decision to settle down with her Swiss fiancé, Dennis Schweizer.

Akothee, who was previously referred to as the “president of single mothers” due to her advocacy for single mothers’ rights, has been praised by the pastor for her choice to get married.

During a video circulating on social media, Pastor Ezekiel expressed his excitement and happiness about the news of Akothee’s wedding. He said he was thrilled to hear about the president of single mothers finding a partner and settling down.

The pastor also used the occasion to inspire his congregation, particularly single mothers, by highlighting that even the president of single mothers could find a partner, they too could have hope in finding a partner for themselves.

“If the president of single mothers is married then the cabinet Secretary, the CAS and all government employees will get married in Jesus name,” he said.

Pastor Ezekiel continued, “I was so happy to see that she was married. Now I pray all the single mothers to get married too. If it starts like that, no one will mess with your marriage; as a matter of fact, I will pray for you for free.”

Pastor Ezekiel’s remarks come at a time when there is an ongoing debate in Kenya about the high number of single mothers in the country.

It is estimated that six out of every 10 Kenyan women will likely become single mothers by age 45, one of the highest rates for single-parent families in Africa.

Irresponsible fathers, peer pressure, and the struggle to cope with modernization are some of the factors blamed for this trend, in which three out of 10 Kenyan girls become pregnant before age 18.

Akothee has been one of the few public figures in Kenya to challenge the stigmatization of single mothers and advocate for their rights.

Her wedding has been hailed by many as a significant milestone in this fight. The lavish ceremony was attended by close friends, family members, and many high-profile guests.
